I was born in Moab, UT. Grew up in Salt
Lake and moved to Los Angeles when I was 19 to pursue a
career and education in music. I enjoyed a successful music
career, performing in a variety of bands. Everything from
Big Band to Punk. I opened for BB King at the Los Angeles
Blues Festival, played the LA Blues Festival, and also the
Queen Mary Jazz Festival, and the Snowbird Jazz and Blues
Festival here in Salt Lake City. During that time, I met
my wife of now seventeen years. About a year after "she
picked me up in a bar", we were married.
While living in LA, I also started a Painting
and Decorating company. My attention to detail, diligence
and integrity soon brought me some very exclusive clients,
and a successful business. While we enjoyed living by the
beach, the mountains have always been "home".
The addition of a new family member brought us back to Utah,
and the mountains.
After moving back to Salt Lake, I closed
my painting and decorating business due to medical reasons.
In 1998 I was introduced to my first computer, and the high
tech world of the Internet. Immersing myself in the digital
world, I started a web hosting business, and brought many
Salt Lake musicians, and others "online" for the
first time. I earned the most famous Microsoft certification,
MCSE + Internet, and went to work building web sites for
an online merger and acquisition business. The stock market
crash, and fall of the "Dot Coms" made me long
for self employment again.
Three years ago I sort of "fell into"
real estate, and wish now that I had pursued this industry
years ago. Being a great REALTOR is extremely challenging,
and very exciting and gratifying. To help someone move into
their dream home, or their very first home, is a privilege
indeed. Home ownership really is the "American Dream",
and there is a lot of self satisfaction in helping someone
make that dream reality. My experience in the contracting
business, and the high tech industry have been invaluable
to me as a REALTOR.
We still live in Salt Lake City area, where
I have been the owner of three small businesses, still perform
professionally, and still enjoy the mountains. We now have
two children, two Yorkshire terriers, and two cats. We are
active in the community and our church and live in the same
neighborhood I grew up in. If I'm not selling Real Estate,
or gigging somewhere, chances are you will find us fishing
and camping at one of the many glorious waterholes here
in the west.
I regularly perform with my band The
Ides of Soul at clubs, festivals, conventions and
weddings. Visit www.idesofsoul.com.
